* a self portrait
* a single portrait
* and a group portrait
SELF PORTRAIT
My self portrait was the only portrait I was having trouble coming up with a concept for, however I think I've come up with an idea now.
I want to wear mostly white and softish colours, and be face on to the camera with a plate infront of me and a knife and fork in each hand. I want alot of random props surrounding me, just anything I can find, but I want there to be nothing on the plate.
For this picture, I want the lighting to be quite bright, perhaps hollywood lighting would be most appropriate.
SINGLE PORTRAIT

For my single portrait I have chosen to recreate and appropriate this magazine cover featuring Kate Moss. I will need to obtain a similar background and outfit for the model in order to achieve a similar photo. The figure is quite close to the background creating a fairly harsh shadow around the arms and body. By looking at the photo I assume there is a fairly front on lighting scheme, perhaps hollywood stylized. And I think there could even be hair lighting involved too.
GROUP PORTRAIT

For my group portrait I was inspired by the song 'Skeleton' by Bloc Party.
I plan on using three females and one male model who will wear black underwear and will be painted with skeleton bones.
I will have to use appropriate lighting to illuminate the make up without creating shine. I would also like to use a low-ish light source so as to make the picture moody and a little bit glum, while still remaining high fashion. I plan on getting the models to pose in such a way that creates depth of field and volume within the portrait.

Sounds good
ReplyDeleteJust a couple of points - for the self portrait, don't overdo it with the props though, plus don't forget for single and self portrait, choose one to be head and shoulder and the other full length.
